About Us

Missouri State ACM is the first computer science student organization at Missouri State University. Our mission is to support every member in achieving their goals in tech by offering workshops, hackathons, and competitive programming contests. We welcome all students, including non-computer science majors, to join our weekly meetings every Tuesday & Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m CST in Cheek Hall 210.

Our Mission

Missouri State ACM’s mission is to empower members to excel in the tech industry by providing resources, mentorship, and opportunities to develop their skills. We focus on practical learning experiences that prepare our members for real-world challenges.

Activities

Competitive Programming

The Competitive Programming Club is dedicated to honing members’ algorithm and data structure skills. Our goal is to build strong teams to compete in prestigious coding competitions such as ACM ICPC, IEEExtreme, and Meta HackerCup. Our students participated in the ICPC Mid-Central Regionals 2023 & 2024.

Our training sessions are held on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m CST in Cheek Hall 210, where we emphasize hands-on problem-solving. If you are interested in joining, please contact our Vicepresident, Tony Astuhuaman, at ta787s@missouristate.edu.

Bearcruiter Talks

Bearcruiter Talks are a series of tech-focused talks, including recruitment sessions and discussions on current industry issues. These talks provide a platform to connect with recruiters from local companies in the Springfield area. Our latest speaker, Lynsee DeGraw, shared valuable insights on what companies look for in candidates.

We are actively seeking companies and recruiters for our next series of talks. If you’re interested in participating, please reach out to our officers.

Workshops

Our Workshops aim to foster collaboration among students on computer science projects, introduce new technologies, and discuss current industry challenges. These sessions are designed to be interactive, promoting hands-on learning and skill development.

If you are interested in being a speaker at one of our workshops, please fill out this form.
